  • MMO Rod Anode

    MMO rod anodes are composed of a titanium substrate covered with a mixed metal oxide coating. Strict quality control procedures are followed throughout the entire coating process, to guarantee appropriate coating thickness and adhesion. Because the mixed metal oxide coatings have an extremely low consumption rate, the titanium substrate remains constant throughout the design life of the anode. It is one of the most durable and popular anodes for ICCP due to its combination of cost-effectiveness and long life.

    Our MMO rod anodes are available in a number of diameters and lengths. Cable can be attached to one end of the anode for conventional use. We can also attach the lead cable on both ends to allow for the formation of anode strings.

    This MMO rod anode can be used for impressed current cathodic protection of heat exchangers, water condensers, process vessels, water intake structure, etc.

  • MMO Tubular Anode String

    This anode string is comprised of electrical cable threaded through multiple MMO tubular anodes. The MMO tubular anode is generally titanium tubes coated by an electrocatalytic film of noble metal oxides. The mixed metal oxide coating, with industrially proven lifetime characteristics, ensures an even current distribution along the anodes length.

    As a highly conductive anode with extremely low consumption rate, the anode string remains dimensionally constant throughout the design life. They are widely used in deep wells to protect the underground pipe among other steel structures. For improved current output of MMO tubular anodes, coke breeze is commonly used in anode beds, or the anodes are prepackaged in canisters containing carbonaceous backfill ready for installation.

    Quality Substrate Material
    Our tubular anode is manufactured from high-tensile seamless titanium tube, which meets ASTM B338 Grade 1 standards.

    Noble Metal Oxide Coating
    The Ir–Ta (IrO2/Ta2O5) mixed metal oxide catalyst sintered to the surface of titanium substrate demonstrates high chemical stability when subject to high current density. We can produce anodes with differing coating thickness and noble metal oxide ratios upon request. Strict quality control procedures are followed throughout the coating process to ensure appropriate coating thickness and adhesion. Based upon accelerated life testing, conducted by an independent laboratory, our MMO coating has been proven to have an increased life expectancy when compared with other similar products on the market.

    Low Electrical Resistance
    The anode has an extremely low consumption rate, measured in milligrams per ampere-year. The dimensions remain nearly unchanged throughout the design life of the anode, providing a consistently low resistance.

    Wide Cable Selection
    PVDF, HMWPE, HALAR, XLPE, PVC or KYNAR are all optional. We recommend dual-insulated cable(such as PVDF/HMWPE) for use in ground beds with high chloride concentration. While HMWPE is an economical choice for shallow vertical and horizontal surface beds with no chlorides.

  • MMO Vertical Tension Anode String

    This vertical tension anode string is an anode array that comprises a series of MMO tubular anodes chained onto an electrical cable. The terminal anode (the last anode on a string assembly) has a metal loop fixture to be used for attaching weights.

    The MMO tubular anode secured into the perforated PVC casing pipe, is made from titanium tubes coated with a mixed metal oxide catalyst. Our MMO coating consists of Iridium-Ruthenium oxides (IrO2/RuO2) and it has been proven to have an excellent performance within the design life.

    Our high performance MMO vertical tension anode is extremely durable and can be used in severe environment conditions, including high acidity and in the presence of chlorine or oxygen. It is a cost-effective option used in the impressed current cathodic protection systems of offshore or marine structures. It can be installed without divers or ROV equipment.

    MMO Wire Anode

    This MMO wire anode is manufactured using a high tensile solid titanium wire substrate (conforming to ASTM B348 Grade I/II) coated with a multi-layer noble metal oxide catalyst. The crystalline, electrically-conductive noble metal oxide coating activates the titanium wire and enables it to function efficiently as the anode. It is suitable for direct burial in fine sand, carbonaceous backfill and immersion in fresh or saline waters.

    The MMO coated titanium wire anode has an extremely low consumption rate. The working life of the anode varies depending on the operating current present with the desired application. Longer life can be obtained by increasing the coating thickness or reducing the current density.

    We manufacture MMO wire anode in three diameters: 1 mm, 1.5 mm and 3 mm. Our MMO/Ti wire anode can be connected to a feed cable at one end or ‘piggybacked’ to form a continuous anode suitable for installation under storage tanks or to provide continuous close protection for pipelines.

    Furthermore, MMO wire anodes can also be used to protect the internal surfaces of water tanks where their malleable shape allows for even current distribution in areas where there can be large variations in water level.

    The silver-silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrode, sometimes referred to as “SSCE”, is a type of reference electrode, commonly used for testing cathodic protection corrosion control systems in sea water environments. This Ag/AgCl reference electrode can be exposed to seawater or immersed in a silver chloride solution contained in a gas cylinder.

    A reference electrode is used to measure the potential of seawater structures and concrete structures. The electrode is composed of silver powder/silver, silver nitrate, hydrochloric acid, and silver chloride with a porous plug at the bottom.
